Crosby Stills and Nash

Well we couldn't have had better seats. 4th row right. The place was PACKED and it was all 50- 60 something people. Not many under 40. It was an outdoor venue, the St Augustine Amphitheatre. It was a little muggy but we were all so excited and ready to hear some great music. I was a little surprised to see they too had aged as I haven't aged a bit.............Ha! They played and played all the songs we wanted to hear. The audience sang along and danced and showed them a lot of encouragement. They did not sing Woodstock or Suite Judy Blue Eyes but rocked the house with all the other classics, Almost cut my Hair, Wooden Ships and Love the one your With. We had a great time, went with 6 friends from Melrose. Stayed at Bumpy Road and drove home yesterday. They were very aggressive about their call for no cameras so my pictures were taken surreptitiously and of course are a bit blurry. Every one had their cell phone cameras going. and Bruce had an ap on his I phone that was a picture of a zippo lighter ready to wave it in the air!

More pictures of my road trip

Summer is almost over. The kids have gone back to school yesterday. This will be Lucy's senior year! I need to post these pictures and get back into my routine. Cape Cod on the way to Province town.
National seashore, mid Cape.

View from Marvo's house, Swan River, just beautiful. There were kayakers and geese and ducks swimming past all day. It was so nice to sit on her porch and just watch.

Main drag in Provincetown. Thought for sure i would run into someone I knew.

Nice colors combo in Ptown

Shell shop for my sister in Ptown

Pati and her brother Pete. We had a great summer dinner together. Corn, tomatoes and grilled chicken. I wish i had some of that corn right now.

Front of Marvo's house.

Moon rise over swan river.

Sunday buffet at Paula Deen's restaurant in Savannah Ga. We decided we needed a treat before we hit that long state of Florida and stopped and did a little touring of Savannah. What a beautiful town. We made it to Bumpy Road that night and slept in some familiar beds.

Her restaurant. 3 stories with every table full and three huge buffets. They were totally booked but squeezed us in at the bar.

One of those lovely parks in the middle of every street. Such a cool calm place.

The houses are so lovely.

More food pictures

Here are some more food pictures from my road trip. No I did not eat all of this food, some of it was other peoples plates but I did eat some beautiful seafood. This was a swordfish napped with Bearnaise and crab meat.
Surf and turf

Farm stand on the Cape.

Fish and chips

Fried clams and deviled clams.

It's "Ah-na," not Ann-a

The weather service wants you you know how to pronounce this tropical storms name! Then there is Bill right behind it. Of course the weather channel is all spun up by these back to back storms. Hopefully they will fizzle out and leave us alone. But just in case...... Party at Bumpy road. I have plenty of beds if we need to evacuate!

Well 4,100 miles and I am home. and boy am I glad. It is always nice to get away and see and do new things but staying organized living out of your car and suitcase is hard, and Florida is the longest state to drive through! Took 2 days! I also realized there are too many people on the road at one time, they should stay home. Went to Cape May to see my family and had a good time with my Mom, I won't tell you about finding her new Walmart panties in the fridge! Then on to Mass to see my friend Pati. East Hampton is the cutest town and Pati's house is way cute too. We hadn't seen each other in 2 years but it was like no time had passed as we poured the wine and set out the cheese and crackers at the kitchen table. If you see it try the green wasabi cheddar... yum. Then off to Boston to pick up my daughter at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. What an incredible experience for her. Very edgy and dynamic. Then we all went to Cape Cod and stayed at Pati's sister house. I had clams as a theme food for my travels and I ate them in every conceivable way. Raw, steamed, fried, chowdah, fried, deviled, casinoed, fried and rolled. I really don't need to have another clam for quite a while. After the Cape , Lucy and I headed south to Cape May again, a few more days with the fam and then we headed south. A quick stop in Savannah for lunch at Paula Deens and another stop at Bumpy road and then we were home. The laundry is done and I am back at the gallery rearranging my wall as I was busy while I was gone, Thankfully. And back to the easel! Luckily no hurricanes on the horizon and just a few more months till season is on us again. School will start for Lucy in a week or so and back to the regular routine. Sure had a good time! I will start with the food pictures and put a few more up daily.
