Thursday Painting

painting group was thinking and painting interiors. there were some really nice paintings today. I used a photo of a very busy tropical porch scene and simplified it with some nice bright colors.

Black Mailboxes

Here is the black mailbox. It is going in the gallery tomorrow. I think this one looks sharp. I haven't made these mailboxes in years and there are still a few around town and they are looking kind of shabby so hopefully someone will let the owners know I have new fresh ones.

This was about lemons on a mirror and their reflection but it took a detour and became about lemons falling.

Hurricane names for 2009

With the 2009 hurricane season starting in a couple of days, June 1st, I thought I would post the names for all the hurricanes as this is probably the most interesting thing about hurricane season.

Lets just hope we don't make it to L or even M, I would hate to be cursing sweet Mindy! and watch out Wayne for that V storm! I'm not washing out the tub yet or even buying flour and chocolate to make the brownies but its that time of year to be prepared and not caught unaware, so lets all go buy a bottle of bleach and an extra can of tuna.

Life of Pi

Just finished Life Of Pi .Wonderful book. I know its been out there a while but I just found it at the Salvation Army. I left it out in the rain on my mothers deck so it swelled up a bit but was still readable. It really was an amazing book. Its getting warmer and time to take the screen door down as the AC is on all the time now. New favorite cocktail.... vodka mojitos! Working on a new mailbox and have a couple of new paintings floating around in my head, just have to pin them down and drag them to the easel. Lucy is almost done with school for this year!
